Blog Post 1 – Dance Photoshoot Tips
I could never do that!
One of the first things you want to get out of your head when viewing dance imagery is “oh, I could never do that.” During my shoots I always tailor it to the individual so we are guaranteed to capture something that makes you look great
Questions, questions
Never be afraid to ask questions. No matter how silly it sounds, I guarantee I have heard them before
Pinterest is your friend!
Before any shoot take the time to gather ideas of poses. Pinterest and Instagram are great tools to create mood boards
Don’t reach to far!
When choosing poses please do not go beyond your experience level. Often the simpler poses are the best
Give yourself options
Bring plenty of outfits. Hair grips are also great for getting a different look quickly
Warm those muscles!
Before any session ensure you muscles are warmed up. You last thing you want is to pull something!
Remember the face and shoulders!
During many shoots, early on, I often see the the concentration face. To truly capture something special a relaxed face and shoulders are vital as we want to make the movements look effortless
Finally, enjoy yourself
Finally, remember to enjoy the session. I am very approachable and understand it can be daunting, but I am also there to ensure you have fun!
